Unbreakable CD

In their eagerly awaited sophomore release, Fireflight ups the ante with their edgy alternative sound combining soaring vocals with selfless lyrics. The 10 tracks include "Stand Up," "The Hunger," "Wrapped in your Arms," "So Help Me God," "You Gave Me a Promise," "Brand-New Day," "Forever," and the title track---which was featured in promos of NBC's Bionic Woman.

COHESIVE ALBUM RINGS OF PROMISE

”Unbreakable” is not only the title track—aptly chosen by the producers of “Bionic Woman” to air on CBS—it is the ideal word to describe the latest effort from Fireflight. The album delivers a seamless mix of hard-hitting, rock rhythms, riffs and hooks, balanced with the pure vocals of front woman Dawn Richardson. The result is a driving collection of songs that unquestionably rings true to Fireflight’s alt-rock style, but doesn’t sacrifice powerful lyrics, strong messages and memorable delivery.

Picking up where the title track ends, “You Gave Me a Promise” immediately catches listeners’ attention with a catchy percussion scheme, which leads directly into lyrics that will most likely resonate with any audience. Moving on, the album is full of musical surprises—check out the string intro on track 3—and poignant lyrics.

The one thing this album lacks is enough variation to make each track stand out on its own. The same heavy production and intense orchestration song after song tends to meld the tracks together into an almost indistinguishable whole. While this is great for a cohesive album, it might cause the listener to either lose interest or zone out along the way. This band is clearly blessed with incredible vocals, strong musicianship and intense production. It might do well to rely a little less on the latter to make the former shine.

Fireflight is so cool. This is good christian rock album. The music and lyrics give us encouragement in Christ. I also have their cd"the healing of harms".

Wow! I got this cd for Christmas and still haven't stopped listening! It's a great cd for being the band's second one. Great job Fireflight keep up the good work!

I love this CD! Fireflight is a great band with a Christian message. "Unbreakable" is my favorite song on this CD because it shows that with God we are stronger. I also like the song "The Hunger," a hard driving song which tells people that God is the only thing that can fill the void. We need more Hard Rock Bands with female vocalists. I only gave it 4.5 out 0f 5 because it is only 10 tracks long, otherwise I have no complaint about it.

The more I listened and caught onto the lylics and beat, the more I liked it. I like the change ups, it's not boring by any means, and if you're in the mood to rock for God, this CD rocks!
