Rob Frankston has waited four years for Becky Haynes to come home, but she arrives back in Barton Creek, newly graduated from college with an independent spirit that puzzles him. Believing the old Becky is hidden beneath her façade of newfound independence, he is determined to find and bring her back. Is it just jealousy? Or, will he find answers and convince Becky to return to the faith of her childhood before it's too late?

Becky has been away to college back east in Boston. She returns to Barton Creek, Oklahoma, where she was raised. Rob Frankston has waited for her and is in love with her. She arrives in Barton Creek and gets off the train with a stranger, Geoff Kensington who is from Chicago, Illinois. Rebecca Haynes shows affection to both of them, but as the story goes, Geoff Kensington wants Becky's father Ben Haynes to sell part of his farm to him and the company who has sent him to Barton Creek under the guise of Ben selling his cattle to him. But, strange things start happening and then Geoff is attacked.

This book is one of the best ones I have read. I have read the first 2 books in this series. I highly recommend this book as well. I believe that you will not be disappointed, especially if you are from Oklahoma as I am. Enjoy.

Finding Becky is the 3rd book in the Winds Across The Praire series, but can easily be read as a stand alone book! I had no problems jumping right into this story.

When Rebecca Haynes returns home to Barton Creek after spending four years back east procuring a degree in jounalism, her friends notice that she has changed. First off they had always called her Becky but she informs them she wants to be called Rebecca, she also comes off much more independant and confident, but the biggest change they seem to notice is the fact that her faith in God has changed. She seems to have grown away from the faith she had grown up with, she now believes that people make their own choices and therefore decide their own fate. That God is only there if things go wrong. While back east she also became immersed in womans suffrage movement. She hopes that the job that she has landed with the Barton Creek Cronicle will allow her to write articles that might further help the womens movement.

Rob Frankston has loved Becky since they were 13 years old, she has never shown more than a friendly interest in him, but he has always been determined that they might marry someday. He becomes jealous of Geoff, a man that came to town on the same train Becky did. Geoff says he is there to purchase cattle but Rob is sure there is more to his story.

Can Rob help Becky find her faith, and perhaps win her heart?

Historical Christian Romance Fiction is one of my favorite genre's to read, and Martha Rogers writing is perfect. This was my first opprotunity to read her writing and now I want to read everything she has written. She writes in such a way that her characters personalities just jump off of the page, I also enjoyed the romantic tension between the main characters.

I also loved the secondary characters in the book and can't wait to read Caroline's Choice the next book in this series, which is due out Jan 14th 2011.

Reading Finding Becky was time well spent. The pearls of different ideas, new contraptions, character twists and turns were wonderful. I really appreciate Martha taking a solid line with the principles of Jesus and making it absolutely clear this is Christian fiction.
