Every girl has her version of “The List,” a handful of goals she wants to achieve (school, travel, career, marriage, children, etc.) by a certain age. But if those dreams don’t come true according to schedule—or they do but don’t meet expectations—what then?
Marian Jordan (Wilderness Skills for Women) says there’s a better list to live by, a God-honoring, in-the-moment set of priorities that makes every season of life beautiful however long it may last. The biblical aspirations she prescribes and enthusiastically elaborates on are to Shine, Hope, Pursue Beauty, Seek First, and Dance. If a girl can embrace this list above all else, she may find herself already in the midst of her happily ever after.
Marian Jordan is founder of Redeemed Girl Ministries, showing girls of all ages how to apply God’s truth and promises to their unique circumstances. She speaks to students across the nation, lives in Houston, and holds her master’s degree from Southwestern Seminary.
In your hands you hold truths that literally changed my life. I was in a pit of despair and throwing myself one fine pity party because I did not have all the things in life that I expected to have by a certain age (marriage, kids, house, etc.) ....I didnt have my List. Therefore, I was struggling with feelings of disappointment and bitterness. These emotions were robbing me of my joy and my God-given purpose. Then one day I woke up. God opened my eyes and challenged me to a great exchangeto lay down my List for His List.
Friends, let me just say that Im so glad I made that exchange. I dont want to spoil the book, but I can say with a joyful heart that God is The List youll come to see the beauty in your season and youll embrace this moment to live fully for Gods glory.
For His Glory!

Jenni5 Stars Out Of 5January 21, 2010JenniABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!! Our small group women's bible study group has been reading this book for the last four months! (We were attempting a chapter a week, but there is SOOOO much to discuss!!!) The book is directed at single women, but the truths are so valid, that they apply to each one of us! My life has definitely been affected! I have underlined all over the book, and told tons of people about it! I think I'm going to have to buy a second copy to be my pass-along copy, because I don't want to let mine out of my hands! It's too good! We have one more chapter to go, and we are looking for our next book! I hope we can find something that is full us such wisdom!Open your hearts to the things Marian brings you in this book! She is really tuned into God! Give up your own selfish desires and let God have control of your life and AMAZING things will happen! They have for me! I have been blessed!
Shawna5 Stars Out Of 5January 2, 2010ShawnaLoved this book!!!Marian Jordan writes as if she's having a conversation with the reader - but it's not one of these "you're single for a reason" lectures married women will give single women that are easily blown off.Ms. Jordan is a single woman talking to the reader (who may be single, married, divorced, etc) about our obsession with making our "list" and sticking to it - without consulting God about His plan for our life. The temptations and lies surrounding our culture are exposed and given biblical direction and solutions.Such an amazing read - I've already loaned my copy out and several people have expressed an interest in reading it as well. I've ordered copies for friends who are struggling to meet the status quo we are constantly trying to fulfill!
