Man of God5 Stars Out Of 5Samson had it all and lost it.March 25, 2015Man of GodQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Excellent book for men who want more from God. This book will give them insight into how to reach that goal.
SBC guyMinnesotaAge: 55-65Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5Great book for menMarch 18, 2015SBC guyMinnesotaAge: 55-65Gender: maleWe have had trouble getting men's study groups to happen but this book has been a winner. It's an easy read for men and only 5 sections, so men are willing to tackle it. It put's a whole new slant on the life of Samson and what men can learn from his life. We have had great discussions about issues that men constantly face...especially regarding pride, lust, and entitlement. Craig Groeschl has a great balance of humor and practical truth to get men to fight for the things that really matter.

Helped our Men's group to reach out to others but also amongst each other. Moved our Men's group to the next level.
MikeMontanaAge: Over 65Gender: male4 Stars Out Of 5Don't be afraid to fight-July 5, 2014MikeMontanaAge: Over 65Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4In today's culture where men are feminized and told to "behave" Craig's lesson is countercultural to say the least. He is not advocating brute or bully attitudes to be lived by men, and not living for escapism via all of the "blood sport" opportunities currently available. He is advocating that a man is to understand and live his role, as defined by God to lead and protect his family. Most all who read will be somewhat familiar of Samson's story, however Craig explores some of the details excellently, and then slams the reader with questions to jolt you awake to question if you are demonstrating a similar flaw in your life. It can be easy to look at Samson's life and critique it however most men have huge blind spots that are equivalent to Samson's.
DestinyMNAge: 35-44Gender: male2 Stars Out Of 5Misleading, a Samson commentary, how not to fail.February 12, 2014DestinyMNAge: 35-44Gender: maleQuality: 2Value: 2Meets Expectations: 2Okay book, quick read, too much focus on an Old Testament man best known for failure and falling into sin. Reads more as a commentary on the life of Samson with a few of Craig's original stories included. Seem like a book where the author is pressing to write a book rather than a book flowing out by inspiration. More focus on the sickness, sin than on the cure, Jesus. Could have been written the other way with more focus on Jesus and less on sin. I have read other books by Craig, and would recommend the Christian Atheist instead of this. Not his best work, but by no means bad. I still intend to read books by Craig, he is a good story teller.
