Product Description

Charlie and Esther Moore have been married nearly fifty years when the contented life they've built together begins to crumble. Esther has been forgetful recently, but it's rarely a problem until the day she puts her car in drive instead of reverse, flying off the end of the carport and into the backyard. Esther's accident and declining health shatter their reverie, and the couple must come to terms with all the paths their lives have not taken if they ever hope to pull their marriage out of winter.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, number 3 in the Four Seasons series. Charlie and Esther have been married almost 50 years. Esther becomes forgetful, does strange things, drives their car through the carport instead of backing out. Both of them struggle as Esther becomes more forgetful and mixed up while refusing to get medical help. Their friends and neighbor are supportive of them while dealing with their own life issues. How they all deal with these and how their faith helps is a compelling and captivating story.

This is a wonderful series that really deals with everyday issues that Christians face. In book 3, the authors really draw you into the story about Charlie and Esther as declining health brings so many different issues. Can't wait to see the outcome and move on to book 4.

This was a hard read for me because of the topic, vascular dementia. Catherine Palmer & Gary Chapman addressed this topic in a compelling, yet realistic way; the confusion, the terrible danger they can unknowingly put themselves in, the sorrow they feel when they recognize theyre not in their right mind. I wouldve liked to see this addressed from their adult childrens point of view as well. Part three in a series, the other miscellaneous characters in the series got little focus as the issue of dementia was addressed. Unsatisfied with one heavy subject, they also touched on autism. In my opinion, they were too many hard topics for one novel and the book was somewhat depressing.Charley, Esters spouse, goes through his own grieving process and struggles to maintain normalcy while Ester is clearly far from her usual self. The book has a sad but hopeful ending.

In Deepwater Cove, Charlie and Esther Moore celebrate fifty years of a strong marriage. The couple love and as important respect one another. In fact many townsfolk see their relationship as the model for couples to emulate. However, when Esther suffers an accident, the ideal relationship begins to feel strain as Charlie resents the pressure put on him to care for his beloved wife while Esther hates his pandering. A worse blow to their marriage is finding a very personal sketch of Esther engraved with a loving message that did not come from Charlie. In the fall of their lives, is the five decades old marriage between the Charlie and Esther heading to divorce court? The fall of the Four Seasons of Marriage series (see IT HAPPENS EVERY SPRING and SUMMER BREEZE) is an enjoyable look at a couple whose marriage has seemed perfect to outsiders for five decades, but in their golden years has issues for all to see. The story line continues to use fiction to provide readers on ways to maintain a strong relationship regardless of how much time together has past. Catherine Palmer and Gary Chapman continue to provide a deep look at couples who have overcome trials and tribulation by FALLING FOR YOU AGAIN and again and again.----------Harriet Klausner
