This devotional takes you beyond just reading! I think this is the first devotional where IÃ¢ÂÂve actually been able to become part of the stories! Each devotion begins with a scripture and ends with a prayer. In the middle of each though is a true story of real missionaries, in real places, doing real ministry right now! We are invited to join in these ministries through praying for them and the peoples they are serving. Their first names are given in each devotion along with the area in which they are serving. And each oneÃ¢ÂÂs story also challenges us to do what we can right where God has placed us on our own mission field. God can use simple encounters in our everyday lives to make a big impact when we are obedient to His call. There are stories of sacrifice and dedication on the mission field, but there are also stories of missionariesÃ¢ÂÂ everyday life lessons - like a lesson on being persistent in prayer learned from their 2 year old toddler or a lesson on overcoming fear from a child of another culture. This devotional takes you out of the realm of just reading and into the realm of taking action and making a difference in the world in which God has placed us. January 20, 2011
