Product Description

Is the emerging church movement just passing trend in Christian spirituality? Is it really a more contemporary approach to church, or just a group of disillusioned young people looking for answers? Roger Oakland believes it is much broader and grounded in a centuries-old mystical approach to the Christian faith. This movement, he argues, is powerful, yet highly deceptive, and draws its energy from practices and experiences that are foreign to traditional evangelical Christianity. The path that the emerging church is taking is leading right into the arms of Roman Catholicism and ultimately will have an impact on all churches in the Western world.

Publisher's Description

Is the emerging church movement just another passing fad, a more contemporary approach to church, or a bunch of disillusioned young people looking for answers? In fact, it is actually much broader and is influencing Christianity to a significant degree. Grounded in a centuries-old mystical approach, this movement is powerful, yet highly deceptive, and it draws its energy from practices and experiences that are foreign to traditional evangelical Christianity. The path that the emerging church is taking is leading right into the arms of Roman Catholicism and ultimately to an interfaith perspective that has prophetically profound ramifications.

I used to read Christian books without looking at WHO was actually giving forewords, comments, recommendations etc. After reading Faith Undone I realize that if I am misled by what I'm reading but I know that some of the recommendations on the back cover are from questionable people it will help me in deciding if the Author is true to the scripture or a deceiver. I used to think certain Authors were okay until I read the background of some of these in Faith Undone, what a shock to know what these certain authors are really up to.

The Emergent Church is a very dangerous watering down of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Roger Oakland does an amazing job of explaining it to others so that they can see through the fallacies of their perspectives. It is basically the old social gospel leaving out the true message of what it truly means to be a Christian. I would recommend this book to everyone. I already have!

Find out if your church has fallen prey to emergent and ecumenical doctrine unawares! A purpose driven life or purpose driven lie? This is one of the hard questions Roger Oakland tackles to discern the times that true believers face...

Along with A Time of Departing, Faith Undone is a must read for all Christians who want to keep from being deceived in these last days. Many of the beliefs of the "emerging church" movement are heresy. And many well-known religious leaders and authors are a part of it. It's important to know who they are and what they really believe...not just what you assume they believe. I knew nothing about this movement until April of this year. My eyes have been opened.

Very helpful for allowing us to be on the lookout to keep these practices from entering our own churches.
