Christian market films have come a long way in terms of quality in the past 40 years. This is one such film. The actors, while chosen from a select group known to be evangelical Christians first and actors second, do a wonderful job portraying a story of faith and surrender.
This film has been criticized for its simplistic approach to the theme of "ask and you will receive," but what I saw was a man surrendered to the will of God NO MATTER WHAT the outcome. God's choice to bless him for his surrender is no surprise to those of us who have experienced it.
There are also a number of subtexts which are subtly if brilliantly illustrated: godly leadership, submission to parents, reconciliation, pride preceding a fall, the fruit of backbiting, and the rewards of cheating, for example.
While the overall plot may seem simple, the story contains many lessons geared toward a wide variety of audiences, young and old, Christian and not. It's not about football, or even about a guy who coaches football - it's about God after all.

I absolutely loved this movie! Produced by the same people as "Flywheel", Alex Kendrick & his brother, I expected & received the same quality. Football is my favorite sport to watch, so that didn't hurt. Not to sound like a cliche, but it does make you laugh & cry!! I highly recommend this as a quality Christian movie. :)

This movie was made without expensive production effects and was a little too homespun in spots but the message was unequivocal and powerful and wonderful. Really worth watching.

We watched this as a family on Thanksgiving and all enjoyed it. We didn't have to worry about the young children watching it -- it was very appropriate. It was good, clean and had some very important truths to it. Very good movie even without popcorn
