Publisher's Description

The stories of four individuals collide in trademark T.L. Hines style where supernatural thriller meets mystery.

Kurt Marlowe is a long-haul truck driver who is hearing strange things over his CB radio. When he goes to a truck stop to try to find a phone, he ends up having breakfast with a young woman with a stunning catfish tattoo on her arm. Inside the tattoo is a series of numbers that she didn’t even realize were there . . . but that have great significance.

This collision with her life sets off an unstoppable series of interactions . . . each of which leaves the participants with the bizarre feeling that something fundamental has changed, and yet they have also, somehow, been freed.

Kurt is a sculptor with no memory of his past. He starts digging and discovers that he’s miraculously healed from major body trauma. Doctors are baffled. And the private eye is spooked and tells him he should stop digging. There are four main characters, and each story comes into contact with another. Each person experiences a supernatural phenomenon, whether it’s hearing or seeing ghosts, creating tattoos with prophetic messages, or killing with the touch of a finger. These four are all connected, but will their lives end in disaster or redemption? Wow. What a clever and bizarre story. It reminds me a bit of that movie Memento. In fact, someone should make this into a movie. It’s got Oscar winner written all over it. It’s a story that hooks you with a mystery, then tosses twists and turns so fast you almost can’t catch them. Your brain is spinning to guess what might happen, how it all might tie together, and BAM! I totally didn’t see that end coming. A very awesome adventure. My mind is still spinning. Nicely done, Mr. Hines.

1595544534 A number that means nothing, yet truly means everything. As you read Faces In the Fire by T.L. Hines, you will see the importance the number is. It is different to each of the four people, yet it becomes the same as it brings them all together in amazing, but strange ways. Actually, everything about this book is strange from the chapters that aren’t in numerical order and how he connects each of those lives. Don’t let any of that intimidate you, especially the chapters not in order. The first time I flipped through the book, I got scared because I wasn’t sure how to read it. I am glad I had though (by the way, you read it like a regular book) and the disorganization, at least what appears to be disorganization at first glance, makes it an interesting read and is clearly connected. I found this story extremely weird, but the weird fascinates me so I really enjoyed this story, or stories depending on the way you read it. It also got me thinking on the ripples effect. The choices we make will effect many people in ways you can’t imagine. The story gives hope for those who are in the flames now. There is a way out, there is redemption! I would recommend you to read this, definitely if you are like me and long for the supernatural with clear morals, hope and themes of redemption. It does take time to get used to Hine’s style, but it makes for a unique read. I am looking forward to reading more of his material. For now, I am looking for the meaning of 1595544534 in my life.

Faces in the Fire by T.L. Hines Faces in the Fire is a book about the supernatural. Several different characters’ lives are intertwined by one set of ten numbers. Each section of the book tells an event from one person’s viewpoint until the end of the book, when the events and relationships begin to fall in place as the reader sees the big picture. Throughout the book, the characters are faced with choices that will lead to good changes in their lives, as well as others, or will lead to destruction. Though this book is marketed as Christian fiction, it is really a clean and well-written fiction book. Though the name of God is mentioned a couple of times throughout the book, there is no relationship with God, no salvation, and no redemption. The story line is very unusual and will either pull readers in as they try to figure out what is happening or will cause readers to put down the book and not finish it. This is not the typical book I would read and I will not read it a second time, though I did find T.L. Hines imagination in writing very interesting. http://www.thomasnelson.com/consumer/product_detail.asp?sku=1595544534&title=Faces%20in%20the%20Fire

T.L. Hines has done it yet again! He has such a way with his writing that just seems to captivate his audience until the very last page! When i saw Hine's newst book i just had to grab it. I had read "The Unseen" and enjoyed it immensely so i have high hopes for this book as well! I wasn't disappointed at all! Hines weaves a fantastic story line connecting the lives of four characters in a subtle yet noticable way! Faces in the Fire revolves around the lives of 4 people; Kurt a trucker turned artist, Corrinne, an e-mail spammer (who is surprisingly a very likable character!), Grace a tattoo artist and heroine addict, and finally Stan the hit man. This book was so good once i picked it up i couldn't put it down until i was done! Definately recommend this one!!

I've read all Hines' novels and this was my favorite by far! The first time, I read it from front to back & am now re-reading it in chronological order by chapters. I would recommend this style. Good job, T.L.!
