Product Description

Illuminating the theological character of these prophetic books, Matthew Levering provides a detailed examination within the context of a holy land and people. Highlighting God's covenantal gifts of purity, he discusses the leaders' efforts to renew and reform Israel, and how these labors have become part of the church's own story.

The Brazos Theological Commentary on the Bible is designed to serve the church through aid in preaching, teaching, study groups, and demonstrate the continuing intellectual and practical viability of theological interpretation of the Bible.
The general editor for the Brazos Theological Commentary on the Bible is R. R. Reno (Creighton University).

    Over spiritualizes too much

This commentary is not bad, but the author takes from Bede way too much. He over spiritualizes everything in the book of Nehemiah as if it has not context. There are some good things that can be found here, but overall, this commentary is not worth purchasing.
