The Expositor's Bible Commentary Series is an Evangelical scholarly treatment of the scriptures. This volume includes commentaries on John and Acts. The commentaries begin with introductory articles discussing the authors, dates and theological issues involved with each work. The analysis of each book then draws out the meaning from each verse. The late Frank E. Gaebelein (New York University and Harvard University) for many years held the position of headmaster of the Stony Brook School. He was coeditor of Christianity Today and devoted himself to editing, writing, and speaking. Merrill C. Tenney was professor of theological studies and dean of the Graduate school of Theology at Wheaton College. Richard N. Longenecker is professor emeritus of New Testament, Wycliffe College, University of Toronto. He received his Ph.D. degree at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and did postdoctoral study of the University of Basel, Switzerland, and Cambridge University, England.
