This college-prep physics course is designed for the student who has completed algebra and has had an introduction to the definitions of sine, cosine, and tangent. It provides a detailed introduction to the methods and concepts of general physics. Heavily emphasizing vector analysis, this text is ideal preparation for a university-level physics course. It provides the student with a strong background in one-dimensional and two-dimensional motion, Newton's laws and their application, gravity, work and energy, momentum, periodic motion, waves, optics, electrostatics, electrodynamics, electrical circuits, and magnetism. Excellent. Well presented. My daughter can basically teach herself with its explanations. I wish I had such a text when I took physics.

I haven't started using this with my son yet, but I have used Apologia Physical Science, Biology and Chemistry and highly recommend using Apologia. The books are written so that the student can pretty much teach themselves and if you are a non science parent like myself you will have no problem understanding the concepts.

Like all of Dr Jay Wile's texts, this is excellent. My son is working through this book almost entirely on his own and is achieving brilliant results. The texts are extremely thorough but user friendly. I highly recommend this and all of Dr Jay Wile's products.
