Product Description

Introduce your young naturalists to plants---their structure, propagation, classification, and more---with this engaging yearlong classical science curriculum. Influenced by Charlotte Mason and the living books philosophy, homeschooling mother Jeannie Fulbright writes as if she were chatting with her own children, defining and explaining at their comprehension level. Designed to be used with both readers and non-readers, each clearly organized lesson features content-rich narration; notebooking; and hands-on activities and projects using easy-to-find household items. Dissect seeds, force bulbs, make leaf skeletons---and take a close-up look at God's flora kingdom. Grades K to 6. 176 pages, hardcover.

After several years of using science texts with brief discussions of many topics, this delightful in-depth study of one topic has been a refreshing change. Easy to use for multiple grade levels concurrently.

We have every book in this series and love them all. They are interesting to read and full of information. The experiments are easily done with materials from home and that is very important for us. They don't require a lot of prep work or fancy equipment. The concepts are simple and easy to understand, yet complex enough that everyone learns something new. These are great books to use for schooling different grade levels at the same time.

Not that I am one to judge a book by its cover, but this book is beautiful on the outside just as much as it is on the inside. We have had a lot of fun with this book, we have only completed lesson 1 though. A lot of material, but there is ample opprotunity to review throughout the lesson. My son is seven years old and I would definitely recommend the book to anyone, but along with that recommendation I would say to be prepared to work alongside your child. The notebook is a super addition.

This book is amazing! Vivid pictures, easy presentation, great experiments and the best thing is that it is designed for multiple-aged children! I homeschool our Kindgergartener and 2nd grader and this is a great book to do science from! They can learn together! Thank you!

This is an excellent book. It is NOT a boring textbook. It is a great read. We love it, I have learned alot. It is most assuredly a living book, because the author has written this with such passion.

I am really enjoying using this book with my children (ages 9,7,and 4). I like the fact that it can be used with a variety of ages. We are still getting used to the text and homeschooling, but I was absolutely amazed when the older two learned the classification system, because I taught many high school students that struggled with it! The text explains the concepts and encourages questions as well.

Booked is filled with detailed information about the Plant World. We are using it for a homeschool co-op with first & third graders. The book provides plenty of hands on activities. Well organized.
