This textbook is the second of two volumes used in the Notgrass Company Exploring America curriculum. Covering the late 1800s through the present, this book alone covers one semester. The full course with all texts is designed as a full-year high school class that presents US history from a Christian perspective.
Each unit is filled with enjoyable chapters and many full-color photographs of archival images, artifacts, and locations. Students will read narrative-based chapters that cover some of the America's most important events, issues, and people. This book also references classic literature (in books obtained independently) that help bring to life the time periods under review. Units begin with a summary and list of lessons, memory work, books used, and a project. Each lesson ends with readings from the sold-separately book American Voices, Updated Edition, additional literature assignments, and instructions for questions and quizzes (review questions, quizzes and tests themselves are in the sold-separately Exploring America Student Review Pack).
This updated 2014 edition features an expanded last chapter to take readers through the present, as well as a new layout that features full-color photographs, illustrations, and a hardcover binding.
15 Units; 75 lessons; 50-60 minutes on each subject each day (total of 2.5-3 hours per day). This book alone, when all assignments are completed, provides .5 credit of world history, .5 credit of English, and .5 credit of Bible. NASB Scripture used (full course equals 1 credit each).
Pages 423-909, indexed, hardcover non-consumable.
