Explore the Book: A Survey and Study of Each Book from Genesis Through Revelation
Absolute Best survey of Bible books
I purchased this book on the recommendation of a teacher. I still remember the day back in 1988, when I heard a Bible teacher comment on something he had read in Baxter's Explore the Book. What he said was absolutely mesmerizing. The next day I ordered it.
The day it arrived, I started reading it. I was impressed by its massive size, in fact, it was a bit intimidating to look at and hold. I opened it and began at the beginning with Baxter's section on Genesis and what I learned in the first twenty pages was worth the price of the book. What he said, and how he said it, was simple yet profound. And I've carried what I learned that first day with me for the past twenty-six years and have never doubted the truth of it.
Studying Baxter's book is probably at the top of the list of things that prompted me to go to seminary. And I've said to more than one Christian friend that, if I could own just one book beside the Bible it would be Explore the Book by J. Sidlow Baxter. If you're wondering whether or not you should drop the $60+ for a single volume, stop wondering and buy this book! I honestly believe you won't be disappointed. Find a quiet place to sit and read, and get ready to have your mind stimulated, your heart warmed, and your God exalted.

The product is excellent.
This is a resource that all biblical scholars should add to their libraries. Also, it would be wonderful if there were an ebook version available for the series (3 volumes). Thanks for carrying it in your storehouse.

I received Explore The Book on my 50th birthday. I have read and re-read it numerous times over the past 20 years. It is my most prized possession in my personal library and I can only marvel every time I read it at the incredible insight of the author and the way in which Explore The Book has enriched my life.
