Syreda RobertsCalif.Age: Over 65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Very encouragaingAugust 22, 2014Syreda RobertsCalif.Age: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5"Experiencing Grief" was very encouraging. Mr. Wright speaks from his own personal experiences as a caregiver, and also about losing a spouse. I appreciated the explanation of emotions that happen during grief... that it is a process (a journey). He gives permission to take the time you need to go through this journey, but always moving forward. He also covers the emotions of those who have lost a spouse suddenly. Unless you've experienced this type of grief, it's not possible to comfort another. I have given this booklet to friends who have lost their spouses. It is an easy read, not overwhelming, and was very helpful.
ZiggySomers, NYAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A ComfortApril 14, 2014ZiggySomers, NYAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 55 months ago I endured a significant loss and as you can imagine, I am having a hard time. I did not give the word "grief" to the process I am going through until recently and realized that what I was going through would occur over a protracted period of time. This book helps to let you know a few things; that you are normal and not loosing your mind, that this is a normal process given a loss, each person grieves in different ways and lengths of time and the characteristics of the process. While it's focus is the death of a loved one, the concepts apply to any loss. My advice to anyone grieving is to allow it to occur; don't put on a happy face or act like there is nothing wrong to make others around you comfortable. You will hurt and it will ebb and flow but over time it will become less intense and you will move toward wellness. God bless....
LarryBClayton,, NCAge: 55-65Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5ExcellentOctober 10, 2013LarryBClayton,, NCAge: 55-65Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5I have been leading a GriefShare group for several years and have found this book to be an excellent companion resource that I purchase and give to those attending. Norman Wright is a compassionate communicator of Biblical wisdom on grief. The chapters are short enough that someone in grief doesn't feel overwhelmed reading it while providing a tremendous amount of help. If you have lost someone you loved, this book will provide helpful Biblically based counsel.
KaelyLexington, KYAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Goof overview of grief.February 27, 2013KaelyLexington, KYAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book deals with the Christian perspective of grief without being preachy. I have used Dr Wright's book on Crisis & Trauma counseling and "Experiencing Grief" is a good companion to it. I would highly recommend "Experiencing Grief" to anyone who has experienced a loss in their lives.
KenRChicago, ILAge: 55-65Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5Encouraging book!February 8, 2013KenRChicago, ILAge: 55-65Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Norm Wright covers the grief process thoroughly. His approach to every angle of grief is refreshing in that 'someone does understand what I am going through,' and is able to shed the light of understanding and encouragement. This little book is written in a format where it could be used as a type of devotional or daily reading for someone who is experiencing grief. The chapters are short and to the point.
