Product Description

Encouraging readers to be more discerning and discriminating in their elucidation of Scripture, Carson exposes improper techniques of biblical interpretation. He groups exegetical errors into categories of word study, grammar, and logic, refuting common misconceptions in a straightforward and accessible style. A working knowledge of Greek and Hebrew is helpful but not necessary. 148 pages, softcover from Baker.

Publisher's Description

"Exegetical Fallacies" identifies the common grammatical, lexical, cultural, theological, and historical mistakes Bible exegetes can make. Carson argues that when talking about what should not be done in exegesis, the hope is to interpret the Word of God aright. The second edition of "Exegetical Fallacies" updates old fallacies and presents new ones to help correct these errors while interpreting texts. (60)
