I love the message it is giving. It has put different things into perspective for me as my role as a wife. Just
how important my role is as a wife and the support I give to my husband. I can't wait to get into it deeper
and see what else God has in mind for me as a wife. I LOVE this book so far and I would recommend it to
all wives that truly want to be a great Christian wife. I have learned so much.

I know a woman who goes over it again and again, periodically with her daughters, at their request. Helps for clearer thinking about relationships and the way God has intended them.
momof2ormoreCanadaAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5By far, the very best book for Christian wives, and even more so for abused wivesOctober 16, 2014momof2ormoreCanadaAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book provides godly, Christ-honoring advice, sound Biblical foundation for every Christian wife. It changed my life and I am very thankful to the Lord for it, as it provides abundant godly guidance. For wives with abusive husbands, it clearly explains God's wonderful ways of protection (which very sadly, other renowned books disregard). I absolutely recommend it to every wife, and even more so to those suffering.
Karen5 Stars Out Of 5God's biblical principles concerning marriageOctober 5, 2014KarenBelieving in and living out God's biblical principles in marriage would greatly reduce the divorce rate, even if only one partner did so. There are cases where the other partner does not respond or soften their hearts, but I believe that many would respond if given time, patience and love. The corresponding book for this one is The Exemplary Husband by Stuart Scott, which is equally good.
AnnaohioAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Awesome!February 19, 2014AnnaohioAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5More than 20 years ago and as a non-believer, I left a great paying job to stay home and raise a family which went against what the "ideal" woman should do in society back then and probably more so today.
I loved being home but because I didn't feel much support in my decision to be home, I felt torn and questioned what my sense of real purpose was as woman, a wife, a mother, ect....
A few years later, my husband & I started attending a local church where I finally felt accepted and had common ground when it came to staying home to raise a family. Our faith began to grown as we were learning and applying God's teachings to our lives after each Sunday message.
A year later I joined "The Excellent Wife" bible study to dig deeper into God's word and connect with other women who were also stay at home moms.
Wow, what a journey! I had know idea what God's role as a woman was for me and to learn that my heart's desire to be a wife and helpmate to my husband, a mother who is to teach her children and raise them up in the Word, was such an encouragement to me.
I got my answers as to what my true purpose and calling is as a woman, a wife, and a mother and it really doesn't matter what society thinks. It's what God thinks and says that I need to focus on.
Anyway, within 3 months of beginning my 9 months journey through The Excellent Wife, I got saved! Shortly after that, my husband also got saved but not because of the book although it did touch on his role as a leader as well.
Our lives have never been the same and now more than 20 years of being home with my oldest 2 now in college, I am still raising a family with with ones that are left at home. I have never had a single regret, no amount of money in the world can come close to God's calling for me and I am so blessed beyond measure.
This book shares God's word and passage from Proverbs 31, it doesn't promote being a stay at home mom or a working mom, it just walks us through being the woman that God calls us to be and uses God's word to guide us through. It's up to the Holy Spirit to work in our lives in whatever manner He chooses.
For me, He just solidified my own personal convictions and encouraged me that it was ok. Some women in my study worked outside the home, many did not but we all grew in our understanding.
Society is changing rapidly but we need to remember that God's word never changes, it is the same yesterday, today, and always regardless of the generation or century that we live in. His word is steady in a world that is not.
