Located in: Los Angeles, California Submitted: August 16, 2012 Tell us a little about yourself. I am a pastor of an inner city church in Los Angeles where I have served for over 17 years. What was your motivation behind this project? My motivation: (1) To save a life, to give direction, to change a destiny, to glorify God. (2) To present God's heart about sex and gender, describe why marriage is sacred, and why sex outside of marriage is disasterous, and the consequences of our choices. (3) To address the significant issues of our day, concerning homosexuality and gender identity, pornography and abortion. I believe God wants to do a restorative work in lives, families, and in America. What do you hope folks will gain from this project? A clearer scriptural understanding of sex and gender, and related topics, giving them a foundation on which to live and base their actions. I want to save a life. I want young people especially to know and understand the love and truth of God in this area. How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I could see God's cry for holiness, and that His truth and love work together. Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? My greatest influence was the word of God and the Holy Spirit. However, the Lord opened up this topic, as I saw the emotional, moral and spiritual fallout of disobedience in the area of sexuality, and confusion in the area of gender. Favorite authors, Rev. Jack Hayford, Joseph Nicolosi, Janelle Hallman, Mother Teresa. Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: This is a foundational book. It is excellent for the body of Christ, youth groups, as well as married and unmarried. It is meant to be downloaded into our hearts, and transformative of individuals and, hopefully, the culture.
