Trygve Knutson is devoted to his family and his community. With his job on the construction crew, he is helping to build a future for the North Dakota town of Blessing. Though he loves his home, he sometimes dreams of other horizons--especially since meeting Miriam Hastings.
Miriam is in Blessing to get practical training to become an accredited nurse. She's been promised a position in the Chicago women's hospital that will enable her to support her siblings and her ailing mother. Although eager to return to her family, Miriam is surprised to find how much she enjoys the small town of Blessing. And her growing attachment to Trygve soon has her questioning a future she always considered set in stone.
When a family emergency calls Miriam home sooner than planned, will she find a way to return? If not, will it mean losing Trygve--and her chance at love--for good?
Lindy5 Stars Out Of 5To Everything a Season, Song of Blessing Series #1April 29, 2015LindyQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5I enjoyed reading this sequel to all of Lauraine Snelling's stories about the people in Blessing. As always, Snelling paints interesting, down-to-earth characters and weaves their stories together. I enjoy reading about what comes next in these characters' lives, and, once I've finished a book, I want to hear more.

I think that Lauraine Snelling is an exceptionally talented author. Ms. Snelling has created the most incredible characters in the Bjorklund family. Not only do they seem so real they very quickly become our fast friends and are individuals that we enjoy hanging out with. Having said that it is marvelous to be back in Blessing and among these people again. The town is expanding and new people are coming in and, it seems, it is difficult to assimilate them into the community which is something new. And Ms. Snelling has given us the new character of Miriam Hastings. Miriam is a joy and she looks like she will fit right in however there are issues that will carry over to the next book. Ms. Snelling is such a wonderful writer that we easily get caught up in everyones life and we wish that we had these kind of people for our neighbors. There are no car chases, nothing blows up however To Everything a Season is exciting, interesting and will keep you flipping pages as these characters work to deal with their new set of circumstances. I enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to the next offering in this series from the very talented Lauraine Snelling.

I found a well written review that shared that this new series helps includes some characters originally introduced to the audience in the Red River of the North series.
Now, if youre like me having never read the series, dont despair. As long as you understand where some characters were originally introduced along with knowing that this is a story of immigrants settling in the town of Blessing, youll be fine. For me, I hope to read the Red River series someday as I thoroughly enjoy Lauraines writings. The novels come alive in readers minds with each page turned and are filled with a community of people who go beyond their own lives to help reach or care for people coming into the established community.
It was interesting to see as the town of Blessing grew and other nationalities came to the area to live or just work seasonal jobs the effects it had on people who loved there a long time like when an Anglican priest came to Blessing due to his horse becoming lame and he needed to work to replenish his funds before traveling. For so long there was only the Lutheran pastor who was attempting to gain peoples support to build a second church even though the response was less than enthusiastic.
Now a young man has become smitten with an Irish lass who is working at the hospital in Blessing for further training before exams. However, when her mothers health begins to fail, she vows to never return to Blessing as she must stay in Chicago and care for her younger siblings. There are multitudes of happenings going on in the town as well as individual and family lives.
The novel was so enjoyable to read and hard to put down as the characters seem so lifelike. It was easy to get attached to the small towns inhabitants. I cannot wait to read the sequel just released titled, A Harvest of Hope. There are some interesting relationships that are blossoming and I am eager to see how the author brings the various characters and town happenings together.

I really enjoyed reading this sweet story, seeing where all the Blessing characters are now and adding Miriam to the story. I especially enjoyed it because Miriam is a nursing student, and I will soon be a nursing student myself.
This was a nice continuation to the Blessing series's; love the characters and am really looking forward to reading the next book. I recommend this book to anyone who has read the Blessing books; just a note that if you haven't read the Blessing books that lead up to this one, you may be a little confused but if you have read all the Blessing books you will love this one. :-)
