Publisher's Description

If you're like many Catholics today, you love the Church and you long for others to know the peace and joy you've experienced. But how can you communicate it? Greg Willits is passionate about helping you share your faith. He's explored all kinds of ways to reach out—from radio and TV to various forms of social media—and he's learned a lot about what works and what doesn't. The New Evangelization and You encourages Catholics everywhere to first know their faith, and then to live it and share it authentically with others.

Many Catholics have heard the words "New Evangelization" but don't know what they mean or how they might apply in their lives. The New Evangelization and You clearly explains what the New Evangelization is and how it applies to every Catholic, and examines realistic ways to make the New Evangelization a part of each Catholic's daily living.

While explaining the goals, history, concepts, and action items of the New Evangelization, the book spotlights other Catholics already making a difference by the ways they share their faith and inspire readers to embrace this call in their own lives.

This book is meant to light a fire under every Catholic and to inspire an active response of faith. Experience the joy of knowing faith, living faith, and sharing faith.

Greg lives with his wife, Jennifer, four sons and one daughter in Georgia.

Editorial Reviews

This guide book is intended for any Catholic interested in becoming a highly effective evangelist by showing how a life of faith is one of witness. It is for everyday Catholics and is stuffed with ideas for developing an evangelistic sensibility; something that does not always come easy to cradle Catholics. It has a verve that clearly draws from the teachings of Christ as interpreted by Pope John Paul II. It has frequent vignettes and loads of lists. The centerpiece is Chapter 10, which is designed with fifty-two "ways" to know and fifty-two "ways" to share one’s faith. Each chapter ends with questions and a prayer to encourage deeper reflection for the individual or study groups. It seems like a really great tool for youth ministry with high school or college students, as well as for adults in a parish setting. It is highly recommended for parish, school, college, and seminary libraries.—Darren G. Poley, Catholic Library World

….Greg Willits’ The New Evangelization and You provides the instruction amid autobiography, anecdotes and witness from evangelizers, written in a "you-can-do-this" style. That last point is important, particularly as people in the pews take to heart the need for they themselves to be the evangelizers. To their response of, "I can’t do that," Willits, a former resident of Conyers and now director of evangelization and family life for the Archdiocese of Denver, can say, "Yes, you can!" and then demonstrate how.

A radio talk show host and a blogger, his ability to speak to readers, i.e., potential evangelizers, is evident in how he defines the new evangelization: renewed spiritual devotion and catechesis, knowing Christ and understanding Christianity and Catholicism; and living the faith; and sharing it with others.

A nice touch is that a prayer concludes each chapter, e.g., "A Prayer to Get to Know God Better," "Prayer for Inspiration," etc.—Brian T. Olszewski, Catholic News Service
