Very nice, just the right size. The ESV is the best. Print is small, but what do you expect from a travel Bible.

The compact Bible is easy to use and easy to carry around (it can easily fit in pockets). The "essentially literal" translation of the ESV Bible makes understanding the original intent of the Scriptures easier to see. My only complaint is that the labels on the cover, and the golden edging of the pages, comes of rather quickly. Over All: A quite excellent copy of the Scriptures.

This has been my concealed carry Bible for about 6 months. 2 Timothy 4:2 tells us to be ready "in season" and "out of season" to preach the Word. I have tried to enact that by always carrying a Bible. This Bible goes in my back pocket every morning as I get ready. I have been carrying it for about 6 months. Sure there is some wear on the cover and some permanent creases all the way through this Bible, but I am a big guy, and it has stood up to 6 months of torture. I anticipate not having to replace it for another 6 months. Think about that, how many articles of your clothing that you put on every day, and cost only $16 would you expect to last a year. Quite impressive! The print is tiny, but that is to be expected in a small Bible. The concordance is GREAT! A good concordance is invaluable in an everyday carry Bible and this Bible's concordance almost never lets me down. Since I committed to daily carrying of a Bible 6 months ago, I have needed it 3 times. That is 3 times that I would have otherwise been unable to preach the Word if I hadn't had this Bible. Thanks Crossway.

I enjoy reading the English Standard Version. I own a Compact TruTone Edition (except that it is black/ostrich rather than brown/cordovan). It will serve as my travel Bible whenever I go on vacation.
The ESV is more accurate than its immediate predecessor, the Revised Standard Version, particularly in regard to the Messianic prophecies; and it is more worthy to stand in the Tyndale-King James tradition than its liberal cousin, the New Revised Standard Version of 1989. However, the ESV's language does not have the same beauty as the RSV; for example, it no longer uses archaic second-person words in addressing God (thee, thou, thy, art, hast, hadst, didst, etc.) Also, the ESV no longer uses the word "Brethren" in addressing the body of Christ, which was a nice feature of the RSV.
In the end, the Revised Standard Version remains my favorite translation, but the English Standard Version is a close second. It is one of the best modern translations available, and no Christian home or church library should be without a copy of the ESV Bible!
