Overall, I love the translation, so this review is not at all in reference to that; however, the product itself was less than to be desired and I cannot return it due to the fact I had a name imprinted on the front cover. Two things of interest: one minor, and one relatively major. When you open the Bible, it has what I would call a "washboard" ripple along the center on both sides. This is not a big issue and will probably work its way out after the break-in phase.
The second problem is of more concern, especially for what should be a premium Bible. Approximately 5 to 10% of the Bible text appears to be a different font. As I was flipping through the Bible it was wonderful, but after I got to portions of John, and then through Acts, it appears as if the font changed to BOLD. It is about twice as dark as any other part of the Bible. It is so dark that the letters (upon very close inspection) have what seems to be smeared ink, to the point that the text is hard to read/blurry, especially for the smaller font study notes. I went to a local bookstore to see if this may be a common-mode problem with the printer. I found three of these study bibles, and one of the three at the bookstore had a similar problem, but in a different portion of the Bible...dark bold text, out of the blue, and blurry. Please note it is still readable, but just very noticeable and unusual. So, my recommendation is if that is not a problem for you, then enjoy, but I would hesitate on having an imprint placed on your Bible until you can properly inspect it and make sure you are satisfied. This is the best study bible I have seen on the market. The bible construction is done well. The added portions of commentary, illustrations, maps, and study sections is the best combination I have seen. I had some issues in the purchase, but customer service handled everything well and quickly. Thanks for a great bible at a good price.

My fiance loves his new ESV study Bible. He was excited to see all the historical context articles before each chapter that will help him get a better grasp on what he is reading. It will become our first "family" Bible.

Outstanding Bible! I have not seen a Bible with so much information provided. I have had many different versions, types of study Bibles in the past. This one is by far the best I have ever owned!

LOVE THIS BIBLE. I have used the Life Application bible for years but when my church switched to the ESV, I decided to get a new bible (my old one was falling apart; pages coming out). So far, I love the notes at the bottom and love this translation. Definitely recommend

The ESV bible itself is great. The text is easy to read and the notes on each page explain the verses in depth. Each book has a thorough introduction and gives the reader information about who wrote the book, its geographic location (complete with maps), history of the people in the particular book, and much more. The construction of the bible is also worth mentioning. It is quite well made and very sturdy. You absolutely get your money's worth when you invest in this ESV bible, and you will receive the best in customer service when you buy it from Christianbook.com.

Great study Bible. I had bought the hardback first to see if I liked it and I did. I use the free computer version as much as the leather one I just received.
