I am reviewing the ESV large print, compact Bible in coffee imitation leather. One word - Wow! For the price of this Bible I am absolutely amazed. Nice gold page edges, sewn binding, a very readable 8 pt. font, respectable looking imitation leather cover, a rounded spine (as opposed to flat), line matching (not sure if this is intended, but I can't find any that are not matching in my Bible), a lifetime guarantee, a useful concordance, a ribbon marker, and all at a very low weight (great for holding one-handed when reading and teaching). Crossway is really doing ESV readers a wonderful service by offering this very nice, value packed little Bible at such a great price. I have a few high end Bibles by another manufacturer that cost a whole lot more, yet this under $20 ESV puts them to shame for all its features and value. There are no maps or cross-references, but for keeping this Bible at a nice compact size while allowing for a readable font, I could not care less. This is one very nice, inexpensive little Bible!
I received this Bible as a Christmas gift from my Grandparents upon deciding that my KJV was simply too large to carry everywhere I desired to go, and that I wanted a compact, reliable Bible. Without taking too long to get to the point, I found this Bible and sent them the link. The Bible itself is exactly what I wanted. It is quite small, but the readability is actually quite impressive. I have absolutely no problem reading this Bible. Granted that I have not had it for a long time, I am not sure how long the Bible will actually last, though it seems to be good quality. Overall it is a fabulous Bible. If you want a compact Bible for portability, then I would recommend this to anyone. This has practically become my go-to Bible. Furthermore, you can have it for only thirteen dollars? I would not hesitate on making this purchase.
For a Bible this size, both the font and print size is very easy to read. Mine is the Navy and Taupe wave, which is in a very easy to carry size yet, even without glasses, I can read the text. My only complaint is that the Bible binding was very stiff. Maybe that is because it was the first printing run. After a few years, it has loosened up a bit but is still much stiffer than I would've expected. Still a great Bible in any event.
