I prefer to make my own study Bible so I purchased this Bible for the purpose of note taking and it is excellent for that with 1.25" margins. The paper is thick enough as long as you don't have a heavy hand. Additionally it has no cross references so you get to make your own. Great for a DIY Bible student.
I'm overall very pleased with this Bible. The paper is a little thin, but the line matching helps a lot. The cover is very limp, a little more than I'd prefer but that's really just my preference. Love the page layout.
Don't let the price fool you. This is a quality bible. It lives up to all it's claims, and then some. I bought this to replace my NASB Inductive Bible and could not be happier. I agree with the previous reviewers, but will comment that I didn't find it heavy. It's heavier than my travel bible, but definitely lighter than my NASB, which is massive. I found it quite similar in weight to the Adventure Bible my kids have.
It's incredible how low cost this Bible is when taking its high quality and workmanship into account. It has the most opaque and sturdy paper I have seen in a modern Bible, and when that is combined with the text line matching technology, it offers the least amount of "ghosting" (see through of the text from an opposite page) in the Bible market.
I read it was printed in Italy at a high quality press.
The single column reads very nice (no references to distract continuous reading). The large margins allow for note taking (which I don't do much, but I know a lot of people do).
The binding is smyth sewn and is sturdy yet the Tru Tones lay flat from the box (the genuine leathers lay flat after some months of regular use).
Only drawback is the weight of this Bible - it's quite heavier than the same size Bible, due to its thicker (but not thick) paper. Let it rest on your lap or table, and voila, problem solved.
