I bought this for my daughter four years ago, when she was 12. She was so excited to find a pink Bible in a translation that was so easy for her to read and understand. She has used this Bible heavily over the last four years, and it has held up beautifully. The cover is just as pretty as it was when we bought it. This Bible has been on church retreats, in suitcases, to church and back countless times, etc. The pages are starting to show wear because of so much use, but they are intact, and they are not ripped. Also, the binding is excellent. My daughter won't need another Bible for years to come. I was so impressed with her Bible, I went out and bought one in a different color for myself!
I bought this for my 8 year old great-granddaughter. She thinks it is great any really likes the cover color and design. She reads in it regularly. The translation is clear and she has little trouble understanding unless there is a work she does not know. She is the 4th person in our family to have an ESV bible.
Definitely not a study Bible, which I knew and wanted because I love the size, font, red lettering, and the cover. I'm new to the ESV so I'm still on the fence, but it is what our church is changing to, so I got it for my Sunday carry. Seems pretty good so far. I am used to the NIV, but willing to give this a try. I'm not positive about this, but it seems like it is not as wordy as the NIV; like I've noticed that a sentence will leave out the last "and" when listing things that are separated by commas. Maybe sometimes when things are repeated to make a strong point in the NIV, it is not repeated in the ESV. I like it though, and I think it will be fine for just another translation.
I bought this as a gift for someone who taught me to swim, helped me get beyond the fear of water. She gave to me so I gave this to her as a representation of my heart. Loved the color and size, easy to carry.
