About the Book
Queen Esther allowed herself to be refined and prepared - she became exquisite inside and out. But it was through this process of being taught and mentored that she became spiritually beautiful. This was her rare fragrance. It captivated the king and gave her favor and position, her destiny. This is the opportunity every women has who seeks after God. Author Ann Platz elegantly demonstrates in Queen Esther's Reflection the lessons that are learned of heart, home, and hope through the story of this noble woman of the Bible.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The Scripture-based content addresses topics that contemporary women can relate to and helps each woman connect with the idea of becoming spiritually beautiful. The book addresses topics such as
- Growing in excellence, graciousness, and humility
- Experiencing prayer and fasting
- Tips on the marital relationship
- Making God feel at home in your home and practicing hospitality
- Preparing yourself for ministry in the marketplace
Each section contains a short study guide with questions related to that chapter.
About the Author
Ann Platz is a noted interior designer, author, storyteller, and speaker. Working as interior designer for more than 28 years, Ann's design work has been featured in Traditional Home, Art & Antiques, and Southern Living magazines. She is the author of 12 books, written specifically for women. She and her husband, John, work together in their company, Ann Platz & Co., and currently live in the Greater Atlanta area.
Queen Esther was a lady who found herself becoming the delight of the King of Persia after she had been schooled for a year or so, along with other fair maidens in the land. She was a woman who had a good head on her shoulders, and she did not rest in her beauty; she allowed herself to be improved in looks, manners, learning, and anything that would make her an all-around queen of her day.
Through the life of Queen Esther, the author explores the nature of a godly woman in our society and what she should be today: the "feminine" as opposed to the "feminist." She reflects upon her own life and the social skills she learned while growing up as the daughter of a state senator from South Carolina. She writes about Esther as a woman of faith, to be honored and her life to be reflected upon to help today's woman be all that she can be in Christ Jesus, thus being a reflection of Him.
There is a section titled "Queen Esther's Reflection" at the end of each chapter, along with a study guide for finding how the lesson can be applied to the reader.
An extraordinary woman for her time, concerning herself with the cares of her time, teaching us a lesson for our own time. This woman's story is necessary for us to become the ladies of our time and for God's timing. -- Sharon I. Rideout, Christian Book Previews.com
