Veggie Tales are are truly GREAT. My family enjoys them all. Queen Ester, however, is the one exception. Not because of the story about Ester herself, but because of the sequence of events leading up to the dismissal of the reigning queen at the opening of the movie and the way she is kicked out of the house over such a petty thing. In a culture already so saturated with, meet my needs self centeredness and divorce, the opening scene, portraying how lightly the world already takes the covenant of marriage, without a disclaimer, is unnessary in my opinion. It sets a terrible example for those little minds we are trying to protect and mold to be like Him. Let's dwell on those things which bring us together, not those that drive us apart.

Esther is a beautiful character. I have seen many of the Veggie videos, and this is my all-time favorite. I love the charm of the young Esther, and the good cousin Mordecai. I thought Haman was great! The king character lacked strength and leadership (kind of goofy), but the scenery, enchanting music and clever (non-violent) way the punishment was meted out make this video a must-see for kids (and adults) of all ages.

Not my favorite Veggie, but good overall. This episode did not have the catchy, energetic songs that most newer episode contain, but the story was well done and worthwhile.
