In this book, Dr. Sproul clearly presents the essential doctrines of the Christian faith. Even though the book is written from a Calvinist and Presbyterian perspective, Arminians and other sound evangelicals can benefit. This book does include some Presbyterian and Calvinist beliefs, however, it also covers all of the doctrines that are essential to being within the True Church. "In Essentials, Unity; In Non-Essentials, Liberty; In All Things, Charity". God Bless.
Although Dr. Sproul is broadly educated, this book seems written with blinders on. The 'essential truths' contained within, begs for a 'This is the firm ground that this truth stands upon' treatment. Seems to inclusive, for fear of making offense.
An excellent warm-up for students preparing to study Systematic Theology. Be pre-warned; it is written from a reformed theology perspective but in a non confrontational way that will make you want to know more.
