Wonderful example of God's faithfulness to grandma
August 27, 2012
This book was not only interesting, but very realistic as I got to sit under Dr. Basansky in Russian class many (many) ;) years ago. I have often referred to the story in conversations to friends. The thing that was most powerful to me was the silent, fervent prayers of his grandmother, who was unable to communicate the Christian faith in Stalin's Russia to her children and grandchildren, yet in parables would speak of the place flowing with milk and honey - in this life God brought them out to America, but much more important is the amazing grace of our God who heard the martyr grandmother's prayers and brought them to salvation in Jesus Christ. A reminder that we should never cease to pray and trust God for our loved ones salvation.
