Dr. Bill Basansky was born in the Ukraine where he was confined to Nazi prison camps during World War II. Upon being granted permission to emigrate to America, he earned his masters degree in linguistics at the University of Oklahoma and his PhD in psychology and counseling, then later served as head of the Russian Department at Oral Roberts University. Today he resides in Fort Myers, Florida, with his wife, Bea, and continues to speak in churches, conferences, and seminars around the world.

I have often referred to the story in conversations to friends. The thing that was most powerful to me was the silent, fervent prayers of his grandmother, who was unable to communicate the Christian faith in Stalin's Russia to her children and grandchildren, yet in parables would speak of the place flowing with milk and honey - in this life God brought them out to America, but much more important is the amazing grace of our God who heard the martyr grandmother's prayers and brought them to salvation in Jesus Christ. A reminder that we should never cease to pray and trust God for our loved ones salvation.
Judy Parrott5 Stars Out Of 5August 3, 2010Judy ParrottI bought three more to loan out after reading this book! I had the thrill of attending the author's Bible study after he was in his 70's. He is a wise, balanced teacher of God's Word. I know the story is true, astounding as it seems!
