Alyce30909Age: 55-65Gender: Female2 Stars Out Of 5Not really liking this Bible.April 15, 2015Alyce30909Age: 55-65Gender: FemaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 2The quality of the actual construction is very good. But I do not like the yellow pages! Ugh! What were they thinking? It distracts from the pleasure of reading the book. And there is really not much "literary" information in the Bible. So what did I pay for? Just a cheap copy of the ESV....with very little extra info or help. I am disappointed. Will most likely give this one to Salvation Army in the very near future. Save your money and buy something better! Not worth sending back since it was just $15.00. Give it to someone who needs a basic good version of the Bible.
Tennessee bear man5 Stars Out Of 5understand the text yourself with literary notesDecember 14, 2014Tennessee bear manQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5literary study bible. Brings the story of the bible helps you understand what bible literature is revealing. Hard to believe this has never been done before. When I read the literary notes before each section it allows me to follow and understand the text for myself, not someone else spoon feeding me their ideas. Higly recommend if you want to read and understand the bible for real life change by His Spirit

As someone who didn't pay much attention in English class through high school and college, this Study Bible is a real eye-opener! The short comments before each section of scripture describing the literary features are very helpful. They help me read the text as the author meant them to be read. Thank for this amazing, very helpful Bible.
Matthew BulfinchMansfield, OHAge: 45-54Gender: male4 Stars Out Of 5A few minor defectsJanuary 20, 2014Matthew BulfinchMansfield, OHAge: 45-54Gender: maleQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4I recall one reviewer who said the book was basically falling apart. I don't have the problem, although one of the pages was cut incorrectly (a little extra paper was sticking out, it was easy to cut off with scissors). I didn't think I'd like the fact that there was only commentary at the beginning of the books of the Bible, but since I'm in an English 101 course, I'm actually finding it quite useful. I wouldn't use this for "hardcore" study, but it's a decent Bible overall. The study notes relay more to the literary features of the Bible (i.e. genre, archetypes, and the literary definition of "rhetoric"), NOT study notes per-se. If I've just confused, you, think if it this way: this Bible would be a great Bible for a literature class (or the English 101 class I'm in now)

Q: I downloaded a Bible. How do I axccess a specific book,John for example, without scrolling thru the whole Bible?
Accessing specific books will depend on the type of reader you have. In the CBD reader, you can simply scroll down the table-of-contents on the left-hand side of the page and choose the book you want.
