Although the Spanish version of this classic book presents the same excellent overview of dangerous cults like the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Mormons, the Moonies, et. al., both of the chapters detailing the gross errors of Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy have been removed, apparently as "politically incorrect" for a Spanish speaking audience. In their place is a single paragraph at the end of Chapter One, simply indicating that over time, the Roman Church added to her doctrine teachings that were not based upon the Scriptures. Martin Luther is mentioned by name as a Catholic monk who sought to reform the Church, but his views were rejected and he was expelled. There is no detailed analysis of Roman errors, such as the rejection of salvation by grace alone through faith alone, or the authority of Scripture vs. the authority of church councils and the Pope, etc. as found in the English version. People paid for these issues with their lives, yet all that is glossed over with barely a mention here. Anyone thinking of purchasing this book to give to a Catholic Latino friend, for example, as I did, will be disappointed, as I was. Sadly, the Spanish version of this classic book is a truncated edition of the English version. I do not recommend it for outreach to Spanish-speaking Catholics at all.
