This was my first year home-schooling and I was unsure which curriculum to use so I "test drove" a different publisher for each subject. I was VERY impressed with the BJU Press English, Grade 5 curriculum. The Teacher's Edition was very helpful and detailed. I always followed the daily teaching tips before my kids started their lessons. There are excellent teaching tips in the book such as hiding pennies for my daughter to find "under the couch" and "in the drawer" before her lesson on prepositional phrases. I highly recommend this curriculum for home school English. I'll use it again next year as well.

As the teacher I love the teachers edition. Very nice colorful book with all the help I need. The student book is nice, colorful and very user friendly. My daughter enjoys the pictures and characters in the books. Tests are B/W clear and to the point. My daughter has been using BJU Grammar for 4 years. We tried switching to an online LA and it was short lived.
We are very satisfied.

Love this curriculum! Actually explains and guides your child thru the writing process (with examples). Alternates every other chapter with grammar then writing (8 grammar chapters and 8 writing assignments).Would highly recommend if you have a child who struggles with writing assignments.
