Editorial Reviews

"Greg Mitchell’s storytelling mixes the modern pace and stripped-down narrative of a Ted Dekker with the spiritual tensions of a Frank Peretti. Enemies of the Cross is an imaginative, sobering page-turner." —Eric Wilson, New York Times best-selling author of Fireproof, Valley of Bones, and One Step Away

"Greg Mitchell once again takes us on an unforgettable journey through the realm of evil and reminds us that faith and courage shine brightest in the blackest night."—Alton Gansky, Christy Award finalist, Angel Award winner, and author of Angel and Enoch

This was the best christian fiction book ever! Nail biting, edge of your seat action as good verses evil lives on. The authors depiction of evil was beautifully acomplished and the book was right on with God's word. Wonderful series, I have recommended it already to anyone that will listen.

The Strange Man has taken up residence in Greensboro. The town of Greensboro has an evil secret about to be exposed in Book Two of Greg Mitchell's "The Coming Evil Trilogy", "Enemies of the Cross". As his brother, Dras, is sitting on death row for a crime he didn't commit, Jeff Weldon is searching for the truth. He just doesn't know the truth comes with as much evil as one small town can hold.

Jeff's crusade threatens to destroy his family and his life, but he discovers some things in this life are not as important as saving people for the next life. Just as Jeff has lost almost everything he's worked for, he discovers true freedom. As the residents of Greensboro are forced to take sides between good and evil, Jeff realizes his true mission.

If you enjoy Christian suspense/horror stories, you will love Greg Mitchell. In Book One of the Trilogy, you got the background of the story. In Book Two, you get the theology behind the story and at times it will be difficult not to start thinking about how you would react under the circumstances. Most Christians, at one time or another particularly living in a country with religious freedom, find themselves wondering what they will do if faced with a life or death confrontation as it pertains to their belief in God. If you wait until the heat of the moment, will you make the right choice. Did the citizens of Greensboro? Read "Enemies of the Cross" and find out. The final book of the Trilogy, "Dark Hour" will be released in 2013.

I don't normally like the second books in a trilogy, but this book blew me out of the water!! It not only met, but exceeded my expectations. Where the first book focused on Dras Wheldon and the setting of the plot and character development, the second book focused on Dras' brother Jeff and his wife Isabella. Within the pages of this second book, the author writes about flawed people and the good and bad choices that they make, just like you and I do. I related to these characters very much and for me that adds to the story in a very real way. We get to see hero's in the making and are introduced to a very special person, FBI agent Christopher Perdu, which I hope that he gets to comes back in the third book.

While this story was a creepy as the first book, (keep the lights on and your back up against something) the point that really stuck with me was that these characters in this fictional town they were so caught up with life, they denied that evil could come. For me this was a reality check, which any good book should me, in my opinion.

Well written with great characters and a great plot, dont miss this one.

Looking for a really great series of books guaranteed to leave you wanting to sleep with the light on, but written by an extremely talented Christian author? Then look no further than The Coming Trilogy Series by Greg Mitchell.

I got hooked on this trilogy after being a huge fan of such talented writers like Ted Dekker and Stephen King. You know the kinds of books that make you jump at noises while you're reading it, but it's so great you can't put it down?

This series is about the Bogeyman or as he is also known as The Strange Man. A presence so evil that he's been staking his claim in the small town of Greensboro since its introduction. That is where the legends and myths came from surrounding late night stories around the campfire, geared to scare you. Only this time, the Bogeyman is real and you're biggest downfall is believing he doesn't exist.

Picking up where the first book left off, Enemies of the Cross continues to struggle to understand what is happening to the small town of Greensboro. Now that a horrible murder has taken place and the town believes that the killer has been caught and is now awaiting his final trial for the death penalty, Pastor Jeff Weldon believes that his brother Dras is innocent. However he feels more than responsible. When Dras came to him that fateful night telling him of the Strange Man and the evil running the town, he didn't believe him. Now Jeff feels that he has to prove his brothers innocence.

Jeff's faith in God is about to be put to the final test as the evil surrounding the town realizes that he stands in the way. They aren't about to let their plans to control the town and bring about the Dark Hour be revealed by Jeff's persistent investigation. Now more than ever, the town believes that Jeff is letting his investigation to prove his brother's innocence cloud his responsibility to run the church and will stop at nothing to have him removed.

Meanwhile the Bogeyman's plans continue to grow darker by the hour as the North Woods surrounding the lake continue to consume all life that draws near and with that, the more powerful he will become especially if he can remove God from the equation.

I received Enemies of the Cross compliments of Greg Mitchell who was kind enough to send me a complimentary copy to review. Being such a huge fan of his first novel in the series, The Strange Man, when I saw that his next one was available in print, I knew I had to read it. Once again, I was not disappointed. Since this is a trilogy, the mystery will not be solved in this one, but will come to a climax in anticipation for the final book, Dark Hour, yet to be available. I LOVED this series and have to rate it a 5 out of 5 stars. Any book that can keep me glued to the pages, and reading it with the lights on, is a best seller for the suspense thriller genre in my opinion. That is what makes an excellent book.
