Surprisingly suitable for me

I got this book as part of the EHS small grp. leader pack and so it came as sort of a bonus. I'm thrilled to use it as I'm a "workaholic" and the questions and passages in the book really help me slow down, to be with God, know myself better and to take care of myself better for healthier ministry.
This book is an excellent and essential companion to Scazzero's book, Emotionally Healthy Spirituality: Unleash the Power of Authentic Life in Christ. It is best used while reading through that book. Each chapter gives you 5 days of morning and evening guides to prayer that follow the material in the larger book. Those who have tried to form a habit of having a single, daily "quiet time devotional" and have become discouraged, ought to try this approach. Scazzero shows how it can be much more helpful to have more short periods of prayer throughout the day than to have one longer one. Periodic prayer during the day does much more to help one maintain an awareness of God's presence in our lives. Together these books offer some very helpful and accessible material on growing emotionally and spiritually healthy without being trite or shallow. I highly recommend these books.
It is ok. Not really too inspiring in my opinion. The best thing about it is that it encourages 2 minutes of peace before and after the short devotion, that is getting me into a good routine of doing this before and after devotions.
