"Suppose I show you how to marry a fortune. Will you cancel my gambling debts?" Arthur asked.
"Depends on your scheme," the other man replied. "Who is the target? Your sister?"
Arthur's lips curled in scorn. "Hardly. She's my brother's daughter--eighteen, beautiful, and heiress to a fortune all her own. And she is alone this summer with only a crazy old aunt as her guardian."The little girl from the first three books of the A Life of Faith: Elsie Dinsmore series is now a lovely young woman of eighteen. She is about to meet a most unusual relative, her wealthy Aunt Stanhope. But a familiar relative has his own diabolical plans--plans that will threaten Elsie's innocent spirit and her trust in the people who love her best. What secrets are hidden behind the handsome facade of a courtly stranger? Can Elsie's faith lead her to the truth before dreams are shattered?
In Elsie's Stolen Heart, readers will meet several delightful, new characters and follow Elsie's struggles as she faces a perilous threat to her happiness. Adapted from the original 19th century novels written by Martha Finley, Elsie's Stolen Heart promises an adventure unlike any that devoted readers have encountered before.Recommended for ages 10 to 14.
Elsie spends her 17th summer with her delightfully scatter-brained aunt in Ohio. But even in this idyllic small town where life seems charmed, there is a wolf at the door--and his target is Elsie. Will she discover the truth before she makes a life-destroying decision?

One of the single best books I've ever read. Absolutely thrilling, well written, and a very good plot! Elsie is a wonderful example and these books are TERRIFIC, because they teach how giving God all your troubles is the only thing that truly saves you! God IS truly faithful!

i agree with the other reviewer. this is a good book for older teens. younger girls do not need to read about a gambler taking advantage of an eighteen - year - old teenager.

Good for teens! Not for those under fifteen, though, due to the content of the story - a gambling stranger trying to elope with you-know- who. For the proper age group, though, these stories would be encouraging and meaningful.
