The Elder Training program consists of elective courses designed to equip elders, deacons, deaconesses and other church leaders in ministry skills: visitation, basic counseling, Bible study methods for preparing studies and sermons, and the history, doctrine, and government of The Christian and Missionary Alliance.
Each course involves 10-12 lessons, and includes a leader's guide. Course on the CD are:
Preparing to Lead God's People-prepares elders and deacons for their ministry in the church. This course focuses on character qualities of church leaders and teaches how the pastor and the elders should work together. This course reviews Biblical requirements and points out the responsibilities of elders and deacons.
What We Believe-teaches church leaders the doctrinal position of The Christian and Missionary Alliance. Each lesson in this study focuses on one of the sections of the C&MA Statement of Faith, analyzing them phrase by phrase to see how Scripture supports what we believe.
How to Preach-a basic course in how to prepare a sermon or Bible study outline. This is a programmed text with 10 lessons, designed to be done in a 13-week period.
