I have this book as a required reading for seminary and let me say it is inspiring and insightful. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading it and applying it to my own life. I recommend this book to any of my brothers and sisters in Christ. I just purchased another copy today to give to a friend. LOVE IT! May God continue to use and Bless Dr. Crabb.

Of all of the counseling books I have read in graduate school Effective Biblical Counseling has been the best. Dr. Crabb goes into great detail on how men get their self-worth mainly from significance and women from security. This concept has helped more of my clients than any other approach.

Dr. Crabb did an excellent job in giving an overview of emotional or psychological problems, and the role of Christian counseling.
It was the best textbook I could have started with on my journey to a graduate degree in this discipline, and I whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone who wants a general understanding of the counseling process.
