He used clicking to "see" the things around him and was still able to participate in most of the same things his siblings did. It was an interesting story about his life and how he adapted to live his life.
McGuiremamaColoradoAge: 35-44Gender: female3 Stars Out Of 5Interesting topicAugust 22, 2014McGuiremamaColoradoAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 3Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3The story itself was fascinating; I had no idea what "echolocation" was or what it meant to a blind person. I loved that the author was real and to the point. The hardest thing, however, was relating to her walk with God. I can see some glimpses of it here and there in the story, but I simply didn't quite follow along between the relationship of her son's blindness to her individual walk. I did, however, understand that the boy had a very special relationship with God. Overall, it was an interesting read, but not one I'd enthusiastically pass along to a friend.

I enjoyed this book so much that I have looked almost everywhere online getting more information about Ben Underwood. What an amazing young man. So inspiring. He is also proof that through God anything is possible. I have already recommended this book to others and will continue to do so. This is a type of book that will always stick with you for a long time.
5 plus strs.

The story is told by his mother and there are photos as well. I thought the book was interesting and a remarkable tale of what God can do.
eb7bibliophileHigh Desert WestAge: 55-65Gender: female3 Stars Out Of 5Admirable Love and StrengthAugust 4, 2014eb7bibliophileHigh Desert WestAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3This was an interesting account, and it had some pretty cool photos. The story was frequently sad, but I admired the mother's strength, and the son's dynamic spirit and loving personality. The writing skills were unremarkable. There seemed to be a lot of skipping around, not a coherent timeline. Maybe it's just me, but I could not feel strongly about anyone, possibly because they did things I'd never do, or because I cannot relate to the lifestyle. Nevertheless, I'm glad so many were blessed by this boy's life.
