Squad—Sunny, Aneta, Vee, and Esther—as the four sixth-grade girls, with nothing in common but their differences, come together through the rescue of a Basset Hound they dub Wink and form a plan to benefit stray dogs and place them in “forever homes.” Author BioLauraine Snelling is an award-winning author with over 75 published titles including two horse series for kids. With more than 3 million books in print, Lauraine still finds time to create great stories as she travels around the country to meet readers with her husband and rescued Basset Sir Winston. Kathleen Wright was "Mrs. Write" to her Christian homeschoolers, ages 10 to 17, whom she taught for many years. When she's not dreaming up adventures for her characters, she's riding bikes with her husband, playing pickle ball, and trying to convince her rescued Border Collie that Mom knows best. Editorial ReviewsReligion and church life are threads that run through the book, tying the plot together, and at several times the girls talk about being Christians. Parents and kids who are looking for a series featuring strong girls and cute animals wrapped up in an overtly Christian message should definitely keep an eye out for this series.
Lauraine Snelling & Kathleen Wright have teamed up to create a wonderful series for elementary age children with family values and life lessons that make the book worth the read. This is an adorable book with a heart.
What a fun book to read. The story is interesting as well as entertaining. There is much to learn from this book, things like teamwork, friendship and even celebrating your differences. The story revolves around a group of girls, with Aneta Jasper as the main character.
Even though I was an adult reading a book written for the late elementary age group, I still really enjoyed this story. I liked how the characters related to each other. I liked the project they work on together as it made the story more interesting. I would definitely let my child read this book! I gave the book a 5/5 stars because there is really nothing negative I could say about this book! Product ReviewsProduct Q&AOther Customers Also PurchasedFind Related ProductsAuthor/Artist Review |
