• Total surrender to God
• Identification with Christ's death on the cross

The book speaks to the individual in a personal way of the ongoing implications of Christ's cross for the Christian and declares "It is God's plan that He must be allowed to work into the lives of His messengers the truth He entrusts them to give to others."
