Features 10-minute "teaser" segments that introduce each lesson; and reproducible work sheets. 128 pages, softcover with DVD-ROM from Tyndale. Grades 6-12.
This kit includes: Nine video sessions with teacher's guide on DVD. Student textbook included.
This DVD is coded for all regions.
I’ll be honest with you. When we watched Drive Thru History, I thought, “These do teach interesting Christian truths not unearthed in the typical history course, and I did laugh at the humor, but at the same time the fast-paced style was rather flashy for my (midlife, feminine) tastes.” Dean, however, found it all fascinating. (Perhaps it’s a masculine thing.) Then came Drive Thru History America—a subject closer to my heart. When I watched it, one biography at a time, I found each segment to be just as fast-paced and entertaining, but somehow less flashy and, best of all, satisfyingly meaty. I say “meaty” because I learned details I hadn’t come across in 20 years of homeschooling. Therefore, this time, I’m writing the review.
Based on the respected work of David Barton, famous Americans are examined for their contribution to our country and, most importantly, an outstanding virtue in their character that empowered them. Meet George Washington, Ben Franklin, John Quincy Adams, Abigail Adams, Benjamin Rush, Noah Webster, John Quincy Adams, and others. What better way to gain enthusiasm for learning history than to be inspired by the characteristics of particular men and women? Nine DVD-ROM presentations are supported by nine lessons in the accompanying 125-page book. Each chapter has a reproducible work-page with a few pointed questions. Because of its concentrated themes and entertaining information, this curriculum kit would be well suited for a co-op setting or a family of combined ages. Appropriate for middle school to high school students, but younger ones could join in, too. Teacher’s guide on disk.

Interesting and entertaining. My grandson hasn't ever shown any interest in history and is now remembering what he's learning. I'm also more interested and love the DVD; it's a crack-up.

My son likes this very much, but I wish that will have some quizzes and tests attached to it.
It will be very helpful tool for homeschooling, because it is entertaining and that is how you learn best.
Because of no tests I will rated a 4.5, if they will provide that; it will be a 10 in my book.

We've gotten through Lesson 1 and my kids are excited abot History. This curriclum makes it fun and easy to learn. The kids love it. I have 2 high school students and 1 jr. high student and they are actually excited about writing reports and doing projects that are suggested at the end of the chapter. I've never seen my kids this interested in History with any other curriculum.

Truly amazing!!! Parents learn so much too! The 'book' alone is a wonderful read with lots of down-to-earth accounts of the peoples history. You will be surprised how much was left out of your history classes! The DVD is cool and Scotts is so funny! Be sure to order the cheaper version...the other version is for unlimited licensing..that was the only confusing part about ordering. You will not regret this purchase for a second!!!
