I found it interesting that the author began collecting Zane Grey novels, which I am familiar with through my Nana collecting Louis LAmour novels, when she was a teenager. One way to look at this was how one author impacted and inspired another author a generation later. Also, being familiar with how westerns were and are written and doing her research has allowed Miralee to write very compelling tales. The other books in the series are Blowing on Dandelions, Wishing on Buttercups, Forget Me Not (novella) and ending with Dreaming on Daisies.

Miralee is also a counselor who includes some of the issues she has helped others cope with and work through in developing her female character. Out of all the novels in this series this one seemed to be the best of the best. The characters were challenged in their faith, wrestled through some tough issues with the themes of hope, forgiveness and restoration brilliantly apparent. Not only is the truth about how adults are faced with paced mistakes revealed, still growing in their faith and learning how to have close connections with their adult offspring is also portrayed.

I felt the intensity of the novel very gripping of both my heart and mind. At times I could feel myself cracking a smile and then imagining the pain of certain characters in various scenes of the tale. While it is true that one could read this novel as a standalone, I think the audience would garner a much deeper appreciation if all the books were read in order. Either way Marilee has done a fantastic job of seeing both the human life and the spiritual life too. The raw emotion depicted in different parts of the tale helps lend credibility, I believe, to how God works in the midst of our pain or sorrows.

Kudos to the author for sharing an inspiring novel with us once again!

Sometimes it's great when novels can reach deep inside us and reach the pain we often have hiding inside our hearts. When Miralee Ferrell decided on a theme for her latest novel in the Love Blossoms in Oregon Series, she knew she what she wanted to convey in Dreaming on Daisies. From the outside, people can appear happy but on the inside is another story. For Leah Carlson, she was still dealing with the pain of her mother's death six years ago. When that happened it seemed it took the life of the man she once knew as her father and dumped him inside a bottle of whiskey he was so found of getting lost in at the saloon in Baker City.

For years bitterness continued to grow not only in finding ways to keep from hating the man her father was becoming, but at the way she had worked so hard to make the ranch a success and now it seemed like all their money was tied up in her father's drinking binges. No matter what great ideas she had to try and turn it around, her father believed that Leah didn't possess the common sense to understand ranching was a man's business and part of his pride.

Leah had also lost her older brother Tom, when he decided to walk away from ranching and never left word where he was going or why he even left. So all Leah had to figure out the broken places of her life was pieces of what she could understand. She must try to convince the bank to provide her with a small loan to help get them back on track otherwise the only thing remaining that she has held onto all this time will be losing the ranch she has loved since she was a child. That would be the one thing that would ultimately break Leah.

Steven Harding wished he had better news for Leah when she came to him to inquire about obtaining a loan to help get them through the winter, but since the deed didn't have her name on it and her father wasn't the one inquiring about a loan, the only thing he could offer her was he would keep on trying to convince the bank to give her a chance. But without her father's signature on the loan documents, Leah would have to find another way to save the family ranch. She just wasn't hoping to rely on Steven Harding to do it. But when a mining accident leaves Steven without a place to stay, he believes he has the solution to both of their problems. If Lean agrees to let him stay on the ranch, he will help with the manual labor her father seems no longer interested in doing. But is the ranch the only thing Leah could lose?

I received Dreaming on Daisies by Miralee Ferrell compliments of David C. Cook Publishers and Christian Fiction Blog Alliance for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions expressed here are strictly my own. This is a powerful novel that portrays the effects of what alcoholism can have on not only the person who is addicted but the family who is struggling with dealing with it. This novel conveys a story of a young woman who's been emotionally damaged by a father who turned to alcohol and abandoned her emotionally, and a mother who abandoned her physically. It's no wonder that Leah has trust issues dealing with anyone in her life. They can leave scars even on the strongest Christian that can linger for a lifetime. The author's hope in writing this novel is that some aspect of the story would minister to their heart and that Jesus can heal every broken and wounded heart that's brought to Him as she writes in the Author Note at the conclusion of this novel. There is also a Reader's Discussion Guide in the novel as well. Well worth a 5 out of 5 stars in my opinion and hit home in my western romance lover's heart!

Those who have been following Miralee Ferrells Love Blossoms in Oregon series will not be disappointed with this third book, Dreaming on Daisies. Miralee gives readers another good story, with intriguing characters. I especially enjoyed the development of Leahs character and her interactions with Steven. The story has plenty of depth and surprises to keep readers turning pages. It leaves me wondering, will there be another story to come about Charlie and Mrs. Cooper, or how things go for Steven and Leah?

Dreaming on Daisies was a beautiful read. Leah Carlson is trying to keep hold of her precious ranch and deal with some amazing revelations and hurt from the past. Will she allow her past to affect her future?

Steven Harding is starting over in a new town. He doesn't particular like his full time bank job, but he is thankful for it. He is also thankful for the opportunity to help Leah hold onto her dream.

Much of this book is about leaving things that belong in the past, right where they belong, in the past. Forgiveness is required. The one to forgive is gone, but forgiveness is truly for the one forgiving...not the recipient.

I loved the well developed characters in this book. In an unusual twist, my favorite character was the main male character! I really liked Steven. He had his own emotional issues with which he struggled, but he also was so willing to help and please others. His character was so well developed. I really enjoyed his story.

The reader is again introduced to the wonderful characters from the previous books, yet this book stands very well on its own.

Once again, MiraLee Ferrell has written a beautiful historical Christian novel. The characters seem real, the lessons taught are so important, and the story plot is somewhat bittersweet, as life is. Yet, it is a beautiful story that is wrapped up with an ending that leaves the reader feeling happy and blessed. I truly enjoyed this read, and I highly recommend it! I received this book from the publisher for my honest opinion which i have given.

Ive enjoyed every book of Miralees that Ive read so far, and this one is no exception. If you havent read any of the other books in the series, its ok to start with this one, but I enjoyed it much more having already known some of the characters.

Leah Carlson & Steven Harding are the main love interest in this story, but what I love about Miralees writing is the multi-generational points of view. In addition to Leah & Steven, portions of the book are also written from several of the other characters points of view such as Leahs dad Charles, and her brother Tom.

I also really like that all of Miralees main characters have very distinct and different personalities. Her heroines are never the same type of girl. Leahs personality is almost an opposite of Katherines (the heroine from book 1). Shes out spoken, quick to anger, has a hard time communicating her softer feelings, yet is an extremely hard worker. Shes a fascinating character, and one you can route for with your whole heart on account of both her strengths and flaws!

Set in Oregon, in 1881, the story is about relationships, healing from past heartaches, and reconciliation. Leahs mother died when she was a girl, her brother ran away not long after, and her father has had an increasing drinking problem ever since, that keeps him from fulfilling his duties on the ranch he owns. Desperate to keep the home she loves, Leah runs the ranch as best she can. To help out this woman to captivates him so, Steven comes to live as a hired hand on the ranch when circumstances find him needing a new place to live. Hes not there long before Tom shows up out of the blue, and he often wonders what hes gotten himself into between all of Leahs family discord. Somehow, he just cant seem to stop wanting to be by her side though.

Dreaming on Daises is one of those books thats really worth your time. The in-depth character relationships and sincere peak through the different characters perspectives will leave you wholly satisfied. Not to mention, that a happy ending doesnt hurt too!
