Leading apologetics expert Josh McDowell and co-author Bob Hostetler combine humor along with biblical and scientific insight to answer the questions and combat the myths most of us confront in our faith. Geared toward youth though, this book helps ready teens to give a defense for their faith and bolster their beliefs at the same time. It's a resource that tackles pertinent topics prevalent in teen peer groups and reveals the solid foundation of Christianity.

I bought this for my daughter and she commented that it was a good book. She read it in one day.

Excellent book for anyone that is questioning or 'seeking' in the church faith. Aimed at teens but can be applicable to adults. Would recommend to youth leaders to use in working with their teens.

Must be a winner! It's wrapped for Christmas. Daughter suggested this one for our 15-year-old grandson...

I am really excited about this book as I am going to use it with my middle school/high school Sunday School class. It is short and yet very meaningful with scriptures to follow. Anything by Josh McDowell has got to be good with which discuss with young people.

I read this book as a teen at my pastor's urging. Most of my friends at the time were not Christian, and I wanted to be able to answer their questions. This book was not much of a help, because the answers were too simple and mostly referenced you to scripture (which doesn't do much for agnostic friends). It does present good ideas for young Christians learning the ropes of their faith about the basic characteristics of the Bible, who Jesus is, and what God is like. I think the best idea presented in this book is the concept of relative truth vs. absolute truth or "Is one man's ceiling another man's floor?" The comedic references were mostly before my time, so this book is quickly becoming an outdated tool for the teen generation.

I teach Sunday school at my church to highschool age kids so I bought this book hoping to find some good material to use. I always spend some time on apologetics (because no one else seems to teach it in churches, sadly) and apologetics played a role in my conversion to Christianity from atheism during university, so I truly believe it's worthwhile to teach. I was thoroughly unimpressed with this book however. It does cover a lot of topics, but most of the answers are poorly argued at best. Often the authors spend a lot of time describing the problem, only to dismiss it in a few sentences or by referencing a few passages of the Bible. While I believe wholeheartedly in the truth of the Bible, just referencing the Bible will not be convincing to someone who is doubting their faith or who isn't a Christian at all. It seems so "dumbed down". High schoolers are a lot smarter than we give them credit for. Again there's some decent information here, and none of it is WRONG per se as far as I know, but so much of it is superficial and just not the best arguments avialable, I worry that giving mediocre arguments for the Christian faith is worse than giving none at all! I'd recommend giving your high school age student a book like Lee Strobel's Case for Christ / Case for Faith instead (*not* the "student edition"!) or an even better option might be the relatively unknown but excellent Holman QuickSource Guide to Christian Apologetics, which include a lot of great information and great full-color glossy design as well (unlike the cheesy comics in "Don't Check...")

Used this book in conjunction with "Evidence that Demands.." & "Case For Christ" to teach my kids this summer. The questions at the end weren't always enough to answer adequately the point of each chapter, so I elaborated and helped my kids answer more thoroughly with the other books and with Scripture. Great conversation starters to get my kids (ages 12 & 15) thinking. Highly recommended.
