Ronald Sider challenges the divorce between word and deed in evangelism and challenges Christians to put them back together. Jesus changed people's lives by what He said and did. He got involved in the lives of the poor and helpless. Drawing from the example of Jesus, Sider calls Christians to adopt a lifestyle of evangelism, where the spoken word and social ministry become a way of life. Only then can the world be transformed.
Ronald J. Sider teaches at Palmer (formerly Eastern Baptist) Theological Seminary near Philadelphia, PA, and directs the ministry of Evangelicals for Social Action.
