Doctrine is the word Christians use to define the truth-claims revealed in Holy Scripture. Of course there is a multitude of churches, church networks, and denominations, each with their own doctrinal statement with many points of disagreement. But while Christians disagree on a number of doctrines, there are key elements that cannot be denied by anyone claiming to be a follower of Jesus.
In Doctrine: What Christians Should Believe, Driscoll and Breshears teach thirteen of these key elements. This meaty yet readable overview of basic doctrine will help Christians clarify and articulate their beliefs in accordance with the Bible.
Paul4 Stars Out Of 5August 6, 2010PaulDoctrine is a modern and relevant systematic theology by Mark Driscoll and Gerry Breshears. This audio book is not for the faint of heart. If youre looking for a light and fluffy book to listen to, you might want to look elsewhere. However, if you would like to be challenged to think deeply about the Christian faith, this is the right audio book for you. Not everyone will agree with all the conclusions that Driscoll and Breshears come to. However, this book is biblical and it is orthodox.I believe that Driscoll and Breshears have done a great service to the church by writing this book. We live in a time when many Christians are not thinking deeply about their faith. Doctrine helps us by begining each chapter by expounding upon a major area of theology and concluding each chapter by demonstrating how each area of doctrine is relevant to our every day lives. Along the way, they tackle errors and misunderstandings that exist in the church today. I have throughly enjoyed listening to this audio book. This book was well researched and well written. In fact, Driscoll and Breshears have taught me things that I have never heard before. Also, Sean Runnette did a good job narrating. I express my appreciation to christianaudio.com for allowing me to listen to this book as a part of their audio book reviews program.
