Tell us a little about yourself. My wife (Tricia) and I are missionaries with
Youth with a Mission, currently based in
Australia. We have an eight month old daughter
named Laine who is awesome.
My goal in life is to raise up and release the
next generation. I believe this generation are
full of gifting, talent, ability, calling, and
destiny. I just want to get out of the way and
help them into their Destiny to change the
course of history.
What was your motivation behind this project? My dream is that the emerging generation will
know how much the Father is excited about them.
The Father is intoxicated, desperate to hang out
with us...he not only loves us he likes us!
When we dare to believe this and grab a hold of
it, it will change us and release us to change a
world and reach our generation.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? To journey with me on a continuing path of
daring to believe that our Father not only loves
us (becuase he must) but actually likes us and
is excited about us for who we are! I struggle
deeply with a lack of self worth, low
confidence, an uncertainty that I have anything
others would want...I am a mess...but my
Heavenly Dad is infatuated with me - not in
spite of all of my glaring faults, but with
them. As we dare to believe his unconditional
acceptance, we find the freedom to fail. That
it is okay to be a bit bruised, cracked and
chipped. It does not stop God from loving us -
it endears us to Him. Jump in and journey with
me.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? When I first encountered Christianity I did so
by reading the gospels. The thing that grabbed
me was the character and nature of Jesus. I
just fell in love with him. He was so
accepting, so generous, had such an easy grace
with people. I remember think, "this guy would
even have me around." Still today I love the
person of Jesus.
I love authors who are genuine with their junk -
Yancey, Manning, Nouwen, Yakonelli.
