What does it mean to be a woman? The current cultural ideal for womanhood encourages women to be strident, sexual, self-centered, independent -- and above all -- powerful and in control. But sadly, this model of womanhood hasn't delivered the happiness and fulfillment it promised. The Bible teaches that it's not up to us to decide what womanhood is all about. God created male and female for a very specific purpose. His design isn't arbitrary or unimportant. It is very intentional and He wants women to discover, embrace, and delight in the beauty of His design. He's looking for True Women!
Bible teachers Mary A. Kassian and Nancy Leigh DeMoss share the key fundamentals of biblical womanhood in this eight week study. Each week includes five daily individual lessons leading to a group time of sharing and digging deeper into God's Word. And to enhance this time of learning together, on-line videos are available featuring Mary and Nancy as they encourage women to discover and embrace God's design and mission for their lives. Visit TrueWoman101.com to view the videos and download additional study resources.

- Pray earnestly for an outpouring of God's Spirit in their families, churches, nation and world
NANCY LEIGH DEMOSS has touched the lives of millions of women through Revive Our Hearts and the True Woman Movement, calling them to heart revival and biblical womanhood. Her books have sold more than 2,500,000 copies.
danniAge: 25-34Gender: female3 Stars Out Of 5good for beginnersSeptember 22, 2014danniAge: 25-34Gender: femaleThis is an eight-week bible study designed for individual or group use. Its focus is on delivering a solid concept for biblical womanhood. Each week includes five lessons as well as a listening guide and video lesson. These additional resources are free.
As the title reveals, this study is very foundational. It assumes the reader does not already have the basic biblical truths regarding womanhood as God designed. Although I have much to learn, many of the lessons were more of a refresher rather than new, profound knowledge.
The weekly lesson summaries are as follows:
1: Gender Matters God created man and woman for specifically different roles and purposes of displaying the Gospel.
2: Snips and Snails Men were created to image the relationship of Christ to the church which has substantial implications to the relationship between man and woman.
3: Sugar and Spice Woman were created t image the relationship of Christ to the church which has substantial implications to the relationship between man and woman.
4: Snake in My Garden Adam and Eves sin blemished Gods design and beauty of the male-female relationship.
5: Battle of the Sexes Sin has helped assist in the growth of the womens movement throughout history.
6: Hear Me Roar Cultural womanhood is significantly different than Gods divine design for womanhood.
7: Total Makeover By accepting and embracing Gods design, He will transform womens lives into an unparalleled beauty.
8: Sisterhood is Powerful We are to live intentionally and purposefully according to Gods divine design.
The authors do a great job of providing thought-provoking questions. A new believer or even a veteran believer will be able to truly determine what they believe about their identity as a woman in Christ. Their definition of a biblical woman is the following: She is, quite simply, a woman who is being molded and shaped according to Gods design. Shes a woman who loves Jesus and whose life is grounded in, tethered to, and enabled by Christ and His Gospel. As a result, she is serious about bringing her thoughts and actions in line with what the Bible says about who she is, and how she ought to live. She is a woman who rejects the worlds pattern of womanhood and gladly wears Gods designer label instead.
At the end, there is an afterward titled Different by Design. Normally I do not spend too much time reading afterwards at the end of books, but decided to see what the authors had to add. Essentially, they humbly admit that there is no black and white outline for a biblical Christian woman. They simply lay out the foundation that allows for the unique personalities, skills, talents, and desires that God designs us with.

Libby5 Stars Out Of 5A Message that Every Woman (and Man) Must HearDecember 29, 2013LibbyQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Over the past month I have been reading "True Woman 101″. It is written by Mary Kassian and Nancy Leigh DeMoss, two of my favorite authors. This book has been such a wonderful read- I learned so much and I hope to share a bit of that with you today.
"True Woman 101″ is not a book for anyone who wants to be politically correct or wants to go along and please the world. The teachings found in this book are very counter-cultural, but that is what I most appreciated about it. I loved how the authors went against the grain and dove right into God's Word for what they were going to be teaching.
Womanhood as God designed it to be is a glorious thing and this book tells just how amazing it is. Starting with the beginning of Genesis and walking through the Creation Story, we learn all about God's creation of male and female, and that there are indeed many, many differences between the genders. Then the authors talk about men- their purpose and why God created them, as well as how they are different than women. The chapter, "Sugar and Spice", goes into full detail about women- their make-up, purpose, and design. The next chapters tells about the battle of the sexes and how sin affected male-female relationships, how God designed marriage to be a picture of the relationship between Jesus Christ and the Church, as well as the differences between a wild woman and a wise woman. Many, many more things are covered in this book, but I just don't have the time to go into full detail.
This book was filled to the brim with Scripture, and every teaching and idea taught was backed up with Scripture. Womanhood, and manhood, was God's idea- each created with a distinct purpose and design, different from the other. This book contains a message that every woman, and man, needs to hear. If you are looking for a book about womanhood, with solid information found directly in the Bible, then you really need to read this book. I know that I will be referring back to this book often and am thankful that Mary Kassian and Nancy Leigh DeMoss were brave enough to go against the culture and share God's design for womanhood. This book will not disappoint!

Jill JonesOpelika, ALAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Great Bible StudyOctober 21, 2013Jill JonesOpelika, ALAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Women have certainly evolved over the last 50 years. Two generations have passed since mothers working outside the home were a novelty. Most women back then were dedicated to their husbands and children and home-making. They served their own clothes, cooked meals from scratch (microwaves had not been invented yet) and kept their homes spotless. When women entered the workforce and stayed after their children were born, our society changed. Women changed. Children were placed in daycare and older children became latchkey kids. The biblical view of womanhood slowly ended.
In recent years, women have come to realize that this switch has created trouble for future generations. Our homes lack order. Our children get into trouble. Husbands and wives are falling into temptation and are having open adulterous relationships. Our values and morals are disintegrating.
There has been a movement, ever so slowly, among Christian women, to return to our original calling as women; however, without the guidance from women who understand the biblical role of women we would likely return to what feels most comfortable.
Mary A. Kassian and Nancy Leigh DeMoss have created an eight-week Bible study entitled "Divine Design" on biblical womanhood. What is most helpful is that Kassian and DeMoss through their reflective questions helps women identify attitudes whether they are based on the world's view or a biblical view and how to realign thought patterns to the way God would have us live our lives.
The book is beautiful. The pictures are colorful. I loved the feel and look of the book. The questions are pertinent to the topic and the study is relevant to the time we're living in. The eight-week study consists of five daily lessons that take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. They are thought-provoking and, at times, convicting.
"Divine Design" will help you reclaim your identity as the woman God created. The workbook goes along with a video series but can easily be completed without it. I have been a fan of Revive Our Hearts for many years. Nancy Leigh DeMoss has always encouraged me to become a woman after God's own heart.
