So then, what IS the point?
What is the purpose of life? It is the question all of us have--or will have eventually. It may be the most important question you can ask, because how you answer it determines everything about you.
In What Is the Point?, Misty Edwards tackles the difficult questions of finding meaning in seasons of success and failure, smallness and greatness, pain and pleasure as we live lives that are, in the end, not of this world.
To find the purpose of life, we must deal with eternity and come to real conclusions not only about ourselves but also about God. We have to get caught up in His story in order to see ours. This is what will make our lives worth living today.
Gary Severson5 Stars Out Of 5CHALLENGINGFebruary 9, 2013Gary SeversonQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book challenges us to re-examine our Christian walk with the Lord. Though it is written in an easy style so that the reader will not have great difficulty is grasping what is written, it is a sober book. Misty Edwards' purpose is to answer the age-old question, "What is the point of my life?" Her answer is one man--"Jesus." In the book she tells why Jesus deserves to be the center of our lives, why we must keep Him foremost in our lives, and offers proven ways to accomplish our pursuit of Him.
There is an old, often quoted saying, "The main thing is to keep the Main Thing the main thing," that refers to the first and greatest commandment, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." Matthew 23:37 (ESV) Jesus already loves us fully and we are to love Him in the same manner. Some day we will stand before Him and He will ask us, "Did you love?" Misty Edwards exhorts us to spend our lives completely devoted to Him so that we can answer, "Yes."
